This is replacing the same exact style. The original one lasted a very long time and the install was a breeze because the screw holes are exactly the same as the old one. Replacing the roll is based on tension-push one side away and place the paper towel on the rubber ball and put the other side on the other ball. Eventually, one of the rubber balls on the original wore away, but it lasted around 25 years! Very reasonably priced!Works great in all positions: Horizontal beneath cupboard, vertical inside bathroom cabinet door, or angled on my garage cabinet. Quick to install and holds up to constant use. Looks good and holds paper towels firmly.Love theseI had doubts about the holder when it arrived. After mounting the unit and making use of it, I like it! It does a great job firmly holding a full size roll of paper towels. I can briskly pull off sheets of towels as needed and the roll stays in place. The holder is made of nice, heavy duty, stainless steel that has flex to put on the roll, yet keeps the roll supported without fail. I'd buy it again if I needed a second holder in the home. This thing has been perfect!I own Oxo products that don't work as well as this simple, little paper towel holder.I bought it to use as a vertical, above counter holder and it works great: keep the roll steady and straight and allows for a single sheet, rip off quite easily.I used the following for installation:1. the assistance of my partner, to hold the item still2. a small, leveling tool to insure that the item was plumb3. a pencil to mark the screw holes4. a hammer to make pilot holes with the supplied wood screws5. a Phillips-head screw driverDone.Love itIm not sure why the other reviewers are being so harsh, this is a great product if used with the correct size kitchen rolls. They fit larger rolls, namely the Regina Blitz rolls (both normal and XL version). The roll fits in perfectly but it is a bit of a squeeze getting them on because of the rubber mounts. Once on however, even the XL rolls (which are thicker due to more sheets) spin around nicely.The best part is the entire construction is 1 piece of solid and springy metal so theres no chance of anything breaking. Also the back is completely smooth which allowed me to mount it onto my wall using some removeable adhesive strips (3m command or tesa powerstrips). 2 large strips is more than strong enough to hold the mount + a full roll and still withstand quite a bit of pulling/tugging. And the best part is it will remove leaving no trace whatsoever.All in all, this is a much more stable option compared to the single arm metal holders. It is also a much stronger option than a plastic holder. If you use normal sized or smaller kitchen rolls, this isnt for you.As described. Shame it is not more accommodating for the general smaller sized roll. Had to buy slightly different ones. But I anticipated this from the reviews and it does the job. If you're installing under cabinet, make a micro hole which will help put the screws in place. I read comments about rubber ball coming off. Mine looks fine but I put some instant glue for longevity. Yes, Costco kitchen roll does fit.Update: found same product different package for 4$ at Dollarama store. I paid too much on Amazon.perfect fit
